Lucien and Claude, skipping pebbles at Old Spanish Fort, swinging under the oaks like they`ve got nowhere else to be. No posing, no direction from me — just two brothers doing exactly what brothers do on a slow summer afternoon.

Evangeline and Richie, somehow already looking like they belong on a surfboard instead of a pool float. That`s just the energy at Pass Christian — a little more effortless, a little more cool, like everyone`s spent their whole life near the water.
If you haven`t thought about Bay St. Louis or Pass Christian for a summer session, you should. It`s an easy trip from New Orleans, and it`s the kind of place that gives you photos like this one — relaxed, sun-soaked, unmistakably summer.

This one`s a favorite. Not because anything about it was fancy — just popsicles melting faster than anyone could eat them, bubbles floating past the world`s cutest sunglasses, and Charlie shrieking every time mom got him with the hose.
Helen and Charlie, a wet dog doing his best impression of a pool toy, and a backyard water slide that saw more action than anyone planned for. This is the kind of summer day that`s easy to let pass by — until you have the photos to look back on and remember exactly how good it was.

Backyard water slide castle, melting popsicles, and Mae putting her princess dress on one more time before the sun went down.
Sanders and Wills were still soaked from the slide, Mae twirling in that dress like she knew exactly how good this day was. Some summer afternoons don`t need anywhere to go — just backyards, popsicles, and kids who aren`t ready for it to end yet.
